Name of the institution’s featured sustainability program, initiative, or accomplishment:
Zero single-use plastics university
A brief description of the institution’s featured program, initiative, or accomplishment:
At CES University we conceive sustainability as the evolution of social responsibility, and it is transversal to the substantive functions of the institution; teaching, extension, research and innovation, creating value for society through these and the relationship with our stakeholders.
By assuming sustainability as the essence of our mission and vision, we take responsibility for our impact on a social, environmental and economic level; working for the balance between economic growth that allows viability, the benefit for society with inclusion and social equity, as well as responsible environmental development.
Plastic inputs, poron (styrofoam) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) are highly polluting materials, the vast majority of which end their life cycle in open dumps, generating negative impacts on the environment and affecting natural resources.
