The Center for Sustainability is a priority to influence the training of change agents able to adopt habits that favor and promote environmental stewardship, according to the needs of present and future generations. Through the Center for Sustainability, UDEM community undertakes to exercise responsible leadership in caring for the environment and promote awareness, respect and civic action in their academic and training areas: teaching, research, extension and maintenance of culture .
The strategic lines of Sustainability Centre revolve around the following:
- Environmental protection
- Conservation of natural resources
- The reduction in the emission of greenhouse gases
- Research on technologies and practices

Strategies:
- Produce training, science and technology based on principles of solidarity with all peoples in the contemporary world and sustainable criteria to extend to future generations.
- Transfer of technology in sustainable social development-oriented social and economic development.
- Create companies with an organizational scheme that promotes better income distribution.
- Micro financing for entrepreneurs.
- Products at fair trade stores nationally and internationally.

We are currently working on the planning stage of the sustainability plan which is ment to include the economic impact of implementing the sustainability on our campus and the community.
