The financial aids granted based on financial need may include UDEM Scholarship, Santander Financial Scholarship or a combination of both. UDEM Scholarship is a financial aid granted by the University to students who request it and demonstrate outstanding academic performance and a high financial need. Among the commitments involved in having a UDEM Scholarship are getting an outstanding average, approve all subjects and execute all related activities to meet the university fellow service proportional to the percentage of scholarship given.

Polytechnic high School of Santa Catarina. This proyect provides low income students of Santa Catarina with high school education. With undergraduate students teaching 80% of the classes, students of this high school can choose from ten diferent technical specialties. Therefore, after graduation young adults can join the work force or continue to pursue a college degree.

The percentage of scholarships offered to low-income students, depends on the results of a detailed analysis of the financial information that UDEM performes based on the student's request and the documentation they provide. Students are invited and / or guardians to append a letter explaining unusual financial circumstances if they want them to be considered during the analysis.

Accompanying student The student support is a program to support students who require guidance by a personal situation, emotional and / or academic that affects your personal and professional development, providing specialized care to address and resolve the situations they encounter. First School Year First School Year aims to actively participate in the process of adaptation of students in their first year of college life considering that this period has a central role in building the foundation of student success and personal. While creating a link with expert teachers in each of the areas, in order to facilitate the adaptation process Counseling The Student Counseling program fosters a supportive relationship interventional and preventive, which results in students learning an active process in which they can improve their willingness to self-help, self-management ability and competence to enable them to make operative decisions personal academic and favor its development. The student counseling is a method of personal-emotional support offered to students through two methods: individual and group, with characteristics of a brief intervention. The Student Counseling model focuses on solving immediate problems, setting targets for the emotional, personal relationships, family relationships, and attitudes of university students.

The UDEM grants financial aid based on proven financial need. In the cases of financial aid due to economic need, the UDEM's objective is to cover the specific needs of each applicant, offering financial aid package that combines a UDEM Scholarship and a Santander Bank Education Credit. We perform a detailed analysis of the student and his or her family's financial information; then we apply a formula to help determine their capacity to contribute to the cost of school fees. It is highly advisable that the applicant and his/her parents/guardians attach a letter explaining any unusual financial circumstances that they would like us to take into consideration when preparing the analysis. Financial aid based on financial need may consist of a bank loan, like the Santander Bank Education Credit, or an UDEM Scholarship, which requires that the beneficiary contribute to the UDEM by performing scholarship service in activities coordinated by his or her academic program director. Financial aid may be a Santander Bank Education Credit, an UDEM Scholarship or a combination of both
