A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome :
Ser Más Manos is an online community. Every student, Faculty and Staff has an online profile in this platform. The online platform offers our community the opportunity to find and explore causes and organizations in their area. When an opportunity is found the participant can register, participate and also track the hours of service and impacts. This platform is also an online community to bring people together that share common interest.
SerMásManos is a great tool to search events, activities, volunteering options or interships in the nearest area. All this information is shown in a geomap, making easier for the users to identify opportunities. Another very important benefit of this software is to verify and quantify the impact and hours of service of every users of all the community. And finally very important is that users can reflect and share their experience.
From the managers view, SerMásManos gives the options of managing, organizing and stablishing contact with the community. As an administrator we can create surveys and forms at the beginning and at the end of any service option. This way we simplify recruitment and database efforts by consolidating it into one place.
Having all information gather in one place, giving a place for NGOs to place especial needs and being able to access from any place, makes this online platform a great advance in how to engage and bring people together, to build a movement to change the world by participating with the community.
