A brief description of the diversity and equity committee, office and/or officer, including purview and activities:
In December 2015, an Inclusion and Diversity Committee was created. This committee aims to promote the establishment of an inclusive environment free from discrimination in the University of Monterrey, according to its principles, goals and objectives through the definition of institutional action lines and the corresponding regulatory framework.
This committee is composed by the Dean of Students Affairs, the Dean of Academic Effectiveness, Human Resources Manager, a representative of our founding congregations, two professors of the Academic VicePresidency and a representative of the Higher Education program. This committee will work mainly in the definition of the institutional regulations about Diversity and Inclusion.
Also this year a student´s club focused on sexual diversity started working. During the year of activities they have had offered activities, talks, film shows and debates, on inclusion and sexual diversity.

A brief description of the cultural competence trainings and activities:
The UDEM International Fair is part of a series of efforts aimed at supporting the "internationalization at home" of the UDEM community through extracurricular and co-curricular activities developed on campus.
The UDEM International Fair is organized every year during the fall semester, and is dedicated to different aspects of the culture of a guest country. The events that comprise it include exhibitions and artistic shows, conferences and panels with guests, student meetings, film cycles, gastronomic events and in general, activities related to academic subjects related to the programs offered by UDEM.
The goals of the Fair are:
Attitudinal: to appreciate other cultures and societies different from our own and to take an interest in the problems they face;
Of ability: to interact fruitfully with people of other cultures and,
Cognitive: to know the ways other societies face their challenges and advance in their own aspirations.
