El solar - Parking lots turned into green areas

A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:
El solar is an intervened area of ​​21,200 m2 (228,194ft2) that was previously a parking lot, and it was transformed into a green space. El Solar has native or adapted trees and plants seeking to reduce water consumption and form a healthy ecosystem; it has 9,418 m2 of grass esplanades for events and entertainment and 13 thousand m2 of little vegetation to create small species. Walkers and furniture of different types, such as benches and tables, were installed to invite the community to gather and use these new spaces. The landscaping project has 807 trees that contribute to forming a microclimate, accessibility, and ramps according to the international regulations ADA (American with Disabilities Act) and a stepped fountain. The final goal is to reduce the number of spaces to parking lots and increase walkable areas inside the campus.
