A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about employee commuting, including the timeframe for when the analysis was conducted and how a representative sample was reached, if applicable:
The methodology used to evaluate the percentage of employees using a sustainable mode of transportation to commute to campuses was based on the number of parking permits sold in 2017-2018. Indeed, the percentage was defined by determining the number of employees with a parking permit, compared against the total number of employees at the University.
Thus, employees who do not have a parking permit are deemed to be opting for alternative means of transportation to go to campuses such as walking, bicycling, vanpooling or carpooling, using public transport, riding motorcycles or scooters, riding a campus shuttle, telecommuting.
