Univert Laval is a student group that reaches out to students all across campus. Its goal is to raise awareness of environmental issues in the Université Laval community by:
- educating the community about the environment and eco-friendly behaviours,
- helping people get involved in environmental initiatives, and
- working with the university’s administration, schools, and faculties to help make campus greener.

Gardens and Farms

There are a number of such initiatives on campus. For example, AgroCité is a group of Université Laval students working to develop an urban agriculture business model. Their goal is to supply the main university cafeterias by growing produce locally.

Coop Roue-Libre encourages the use of sustainable transport. Its mission is to empower community members to maintain, repair, and use their bicycles as a means of transportation. The cooperative also aspires to be a model for utility biking in Québec. They also supply a shop to repair and maintain bikes that is available for all people (members and non-members). Workshops on mechanics are organized as well as conferences and activities for bikers.

Club de plein air L’AVAL was founded in 1971 to bring together nature lovers and provide opportunities for them to canoe, hike, back country and cross country ski, telemark ski, bike, snowshoe, and participate in other special activities in the greater Québec City area. Most outings take place on weekends and holidays. The club advocates for the protection and conservation of natural sites and their inhabitants.

Coopérative des Cafés Étudiants de l'Université Laval. This group is engaged in the student community and seeks to meet its members’ various needs while promoting entrepreneurship and student initiative. It supports student cafés in their initiatives while paying close attention to maintaining the special characteristics and original feel of each one. In addition, the coop’s rigorous ethical and environmental guidelines offer members a variety of tools to take their green and fair-trade initiatives one step further.
