Number of employees served (i.e. directly targeted) by the program (headcount):
6,685

A brief description of the program, including examples of peer-to-peer outreach activities:
The local sustainable development sponsors network is made up of representatives from different units (academics and services departments). The network mainly served as a liaison between units and follows up on sustainable development–related operations in the field. One of the objectives of the network is to provide formation and information to its members for them to transfer within their respective units.

A brief description of how the employee educators are selected:
Faculty and department heads designate a liaison to work with the employees and management of the administrative unit as well as the university’s Sustainable Development representatives.

A brief description of the formal training that the employee educators receive to prepare them to conduct peer outreach:
Members of the local sustainable development sponsors network receive training by the sustainable development team and other intern and extern resources according to institutional priority and themes requirements. For example, in 2019 when strategic planning of our institution was on a consultation process, a formation was given to the network on the process, issues and perspectives around public consultation, how to mobilize and work with peers to raise awareness. Another formation was about Sustainable development goals. As Université Laval is working on the implementation in our strategies of these SDG, a one-hour formation was given. Other subjects in the past : sustainable purchasing, managing an ecoresponsible event, education for sustainable development, key competencies in sustainability embedding in a program approach.

A brief description of the financial and/or administrative support the institution provides to the program (e.g. annual budget and/or paid faculty/staff coordination):
Our sustainable development team is the network’s go-to resource. The network’s operating expenses are covered by the Sustainable Development Fund.
