Université Laval's sustainable development fund supports the implementation of innovative projects and actions at the heart of university life. It is one of the largest sustainable development funds in the Quebec university network.
A brief description of the multi-stakeholder decision-making process used to determine which projects receive funding through the sustainability projects fund:
There are two selection committees that manage the funds. The first committee is composed of members of the Vice-Rector for International Affairs and Sustainable Development, the Student Services Office and the Université Laval Foundation. They deal with applications for student projects.
There is a second selection committee that deals with the projects of staff members. It is composed of community members from the Vice-Rectorate of International Affairs and Sustainable Development, the Executive Vice-Rectorate, the Vice-Rectorate of Studies and Student Affairs, the Vice-Rectorate of Research, Creation and Innovation and the Vice-Rectorate of Infrastructure and Transformation.
All projects must meet the following criteria:
- Respect for and relevance to the orientations of the ULaval Institutional Policy on Sustainable Development (PDF).
- Influence on the promotion and strengthening of sustainable development at the University and the number and type of people directly or indirectly affected by the project.
- The project's history, operational feasibility, organizational plan, timeline, sustainability, team of sponsors, sustainability, and long-term impact.
- The faculty, departmental, institutional or external support (partnerships) obtained and a financing plan for the project.
