A brief summary of the climate plan’s long-term goals:
An interim goal of 42% of 2005 levels by 2030 has been established. T Ultimately, the University is striving to meet an 80% reduction in our 1990 emission level by 2050. This will leave approximately 14,500 metric tons of CO2 equivalent to be migitated to reach carbon neutrality. Therefore, our estiimated carbon neutrality date is set for the later part of the 21st century.

The University has set a goal of a 20% reduction in emissions, relative to 2007 levels by 2014 in accordance with the SUNY plan issued in November of 2007.
