SUNY Global Commons virtual study abroad program

A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:
In the summers of 2020 and 2021, the SUNY System joined together to create unique, virtual study abroad opportunities aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Students signed up based on their project interest and placed in teams. These teams were then partnered with an international organization and created educational and outreach materials based on their group's challenges. Several UAlbany faculty and staff served as faculty advisors and content developers including: Dr. Mary Ellen Mallia (content developer for SDG #13), Dr. John Justino, School of Public Health, Dr. Susan Appe from Public Administration and Dr. Ilka Kressner from Languages, Literature and Cultures.
