None
A brief description of the program:
Yes. The University operates free park and ride shuttle service on each of its three campuses. In addition, the UB Stampede transports over three million passengers each year between the North and South Campuses.
From August 2011 to August 2012, UB offered metro passes to eligible UB students, faculty, or staff. To be eligible for the pass, UB students, faculty or staff needed to live within 3/4 of a mile of the NFTA Metro Rail line, or have responsibilities that required travel between the South and Downtown campuses. The NFTA provided stickers that were placed on UB ID Cards and when shown, could be used for free travel on board the rail line only. There were 3,000 student passes and 300 faculty/staff passes available which were distributed on a first come, first served basis.
The pass program, as part of UB Car Free, supported the University's commitment to climate neutrality by its anticipated reduction in vehicles on and around campus. The Metro Rail is a zero-emission transportation alternative running along Main Street in Buffalo, with stops throughout the Downtown Campus, and a terminus at Main Circle on the South Campus.
