UB's electronic waste recycling vendor is certied R2/RIOS, which ensures that workers' basic safety is protected, and environmental standards are met, amongst many other health, and environmental quality standards.

A brief description of the electronic waste recycling program for institution-generated materials:
When electronic waste is generated, the user submits a work order with University Moving Services for pickup. The waste is then transported to the Helm Warehouse for processing. Our electronic waste vendor then picks up waste.

Every spring, UB holds a computer and electronics recycling event where students as well as faculty and staff can drop off electronic waste free of charge.
