The charter or mission statement of the CIR or other body, which reflects social and environmental concerns, or a brief description of how the CIR is tasked to address social and environmental concerns :
We have spent the past year engaged in a comprehensive process of defining where our university’s state of sustainability is and while we are on solid footing the Sustainability, Tracking Assessment and Monitoring System (STARS) we utilized also pointed out several areas where we have room for improvement. One of these key gap sectors includes the establishment of a socially responsible investment strategy that would be utilized to advise the University at Buffalo Foundation’s endowment.
To better understand this complex landscape, we would like to invite you to serve on the University’s new Committee for Socially Responsible Investment. As a member of this body, you will assist the University with making recommendations to the Executive Director and the Investments Committee of the UB Foundation on socially and environmentally responsible investment.
