The University at Buffalo Institutional Repository, hosted by the UB Libraries, collects, preserves, and widely distributes UB's research and scholarship, including full-text articles, full-text reports, audio mp3 files, images, and video clips. UB faculty, staff and students may deposit their work for free here.
The School of Law uses a different hosted platform: https://digitalcommons.law.buffalo.edu/
In addition, on March 22, 2018 the State University of New York board of Trustees mandated an open access policy for faculty, student, and staff scholarship (attached).

The University at Buffalo Libraries has played a leadership role in advancing the dialogue for a system-wide open access policy over the past few years. This action and many other efforts across the state have led led to a SUNY-wide mandate that each campus must adopt their own open access policy. The University at Buffalo Provost has formed a working group and efforts are underway to adopt a campus wide policy.
