A brief description of how sustainability is included prominently in new student orientation (including how multiple dimensions of sustainability are addressed):
During the Week of Welcome (WOW), the sustainability program sets up in the Charger Union to welcome students, answer questions, and engage on topics of sustainability. As an example, during the Spring '18 WOW, the sustainability program asked students to share what they care about by asking them to put dots by different categories relating to a sustainable campus. Categories included: Community and Culture, Procurement, Grounds, Food, Energy, Research, Etc. This gave the students an opportunity to give feedback and input and gave the sustainability program a chance to elarn more about what the new students care about.
During the Fall Convocation, where all new students have dinner on the Green Way, recycling bins were provided. To encourage students to recycle and to introduce them to the Sustainability program, "table tents" were placed at each table reminding students to recycle and how to do so properly.
