We have a fully represented Student Government Association and executive board for the SGA. Also, our Student Government President has regular meetings with the administration so as to help serve the student body as well as he/she can.

The Staff Senate serves in an advisory and consultative role with the University Administration to promote understanding, cooperation, and communication within the UAH campus community. The Staff Senate comprises 24 voting members who represent the entire UAH staff workforce, either as Staff Senate Representatives of a particular division or as at-large members.

The University of Alabama in Huntsville Faculty Senate is the permanent body representing the faculty for the formulation of university policy and procedures in matters pertaining to institutional purpose, general academic considerations, curricular matters, university resources, and faculty personnel (appointments, promotion, and tenure).

No. However, all campus projects must be presented to the University of Alabama System Board of Trustees in accordance with Board Rule 415. These presentations are part of a four stage approval process. These meetings are open to the public — anyone can attend. There is opportunity for comment from stakeholders during these meetings. In addition, UAH Master Plans are developed with input from the City of Huntsville. The Master Planning team meets with the Economic Development Office, the Chamber of Commerce, and the city’s planning department. There are also “open dialogue” meetings for major projects such as the UAH Executive Plaza Development, where students, faculty, staff, and the community can learn about project plans and ask questions. In addition, before new buildings are built on campus, plans are taken to the Location, Character, and Extent (LCE) sub committee of the Huntsville Planning Commission. Here, feedback is gathered regarding the planned project and questions are answered.
