UC Merced was designed as an interdisciplinary institution so we have no departments. Faculty may have appointments that cross the three schools (Natural Sciences, Engineering, and Social Sciences Humanities and Arts). Faculty are loosely organized by graduate groups and so-called Bylaw 55 groups (a University of California faculty term). Therefore it is not possible for us to determine this information by department. As the closest approximation, we have listed the undergraduate and graduate majors which have at least one faculty member teaching in them who also conducts sustainability research.
