All new permanent buildings on campus have been required to be minimum LEED Silver since 2002 and, as of March 2009, minimum LEED Gold. Since 2005, the campus has an on-campus LEED coordinate working with every building project to ensure compliance, gather documentation, and submit projects for review by the UCGBC. The 215,640 that is not listed as certified has been submitted for LEED NC and is pending approval at Gold or Platinum levels.
