A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:
Facilities Management at UC Merced developed software that allows smartphone users to report water leaks to the Facilities Management Work Order System through quick response (QR) stickers. Smartphone users can scan a QR code that has been placed in the Social Sciences and Management (SSM) building bathrooms. A work request is automatically generated and alters Facilities Management of water leaks. The Report a Water Leak Program is innovative because: 1.) It utilizes technological convenience to conserve water 2.) It encourages the campus community to participate in reporting 3.) It reduces workload by removing duplicated requests 4.) It allows users to track progress on requests
