A brief description of how sustainability is included in new employee orientation (including how multiple dimensions of sustainability are addressed):
Engagement of staff in sustainability initiatives is a critical aspect of a well-informed collaborative workforce. Through the Human Resources New Employee Orientation Program, one-hundred percent of new staff are provided with information on campus sustainability initiatives. Additionally, the UC Merced New Employee handbook also provides and overview of sustainability. The Office of Sustainability also participates in the “Build Your Network,” a new program that connects participants with experienced staff members in an effort to expand learning opportunities and contribute to campus innovation and growth. Additionally, one-hundred percent of faculty participated in new faculty orientation and received information on sustainability.
