A brief description of the activities and substantive accomplishments of the institution-wide coordinating body or officer during the previous three years:
Accomplishments associated with the UC Merced Sustainability Committee include: 1. Successful AY 17-18 Earth Day and Campus Sustainability Events 2. The Chancellors Advisory Committee supported the development of the UC Merced campus Sustainability Strategic Plan. The document identifies goals and strategic actions to achieve sets goals, along with key performance indicators to measure campus wide progress. 3. Development of a LEED ENVE 30 Evaluating Sustainable Living Spaces Course offered through the School of Engineering fully prepares students to take the LEED Green Associate exam. This course is a spin off to the campus LEED Lab class which provides students with the opportunity to support certifying building spaces under LEED Existing Buildings Operations & Maintenance. 4. The committee also supported the update of the campus Water Action Plan (WAP).
