The cultural assessment targets UC Merced student, staff, and faculty. The survey was developed using questions that provide perspective of sustainability understanding an knowledge and sustainability habits. The survey was distributed to the entire UC Merced community where participants had to authenticate their affiliation with the campus. The survey was distributed to and open to the community during a three-week time.

This survey was distributed to every single member of the UC Merced community.
A brief summary of results from the cultural assessment:
The survey returned results that highlighted key areas of effective communication and opportunity to expand outreach and knowledge. The results included recommendations from the campus community for more workshops and events for Fall 2021 and Spring 2022. A copy of the proposed workshop and events can be located in optional fields.
A post survey is scheduled in 2023 to provide adequate and sufficient time for the campus and office of sustainability to implement respondent recommendations.

The survey was developed and submitted for review to Institutional Research and Decision Support (IRDS), along with a copy of the credit criteria to assure that the survey was meeting the standards set forth. Once the survey was approved we went through the appropriate channels to distribute the survey through the Office of mass communication on the UC Merced campus, the survey was distributed to every student, staff, and faculty.
