Through the UC Merced Library’s Course Resources Service, the Library makes eligible course materials available through the campus’s Learning Management System or available for limited checkout. UC Merced Library also supports the use of library eBooks for courses by obtaining multiple or simultaneous user licenses when possible.
Students participating in the Transfer, Returning, and Veteran (TRV) Program has access to the TRV Lending Library, a private collection of textbooks from which TRV Scholars can borrow from each semester at no charge. The TRV Lending Library is a first-come-first-served program.

Between 2018- 2021, the Library and Center for Engaged Teaching & Learning incentivized the adoption of open educational resources (OER) and library licensed e-resources through the Zero-Cost Course Materials grant program. The Library also provides consultation services and information for finding and selecting low and no-cost materials, including OER.
