Optional Fields
Campus construction or renovation projects involve the generation of large amounts of concrete, wood, and metal waste. Much of this can be recycled or reused elsewhere, but the necessary sorting is not always done by contractors. Campus practice currently requires contractors on major construction projects to develop and implement a waste management plan, recycling and/or salvaging at least 50% of construction, demolition, and land-clearing waste. As a higher portion of projects require high LEED standards and as LEED v4 requirements get stricter, contractors use specialized subs to sort and market a high percentage of material.
