ODECE envisions a campus where pervasive respect for diversity and inclusion promotes faculty and student success, enhances campus climate, and strengthens community engagement.

A brief description of the diversity coordinator's position:
The Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity, and Community Engagement is responsible for articulating a vision and providing leadership in developing a university-wide program to support and foster a more diverse community and one that embraces and welcomes diversity in all its forms. As a member of the Chancellor’s Cabinet, the Vice Chancellor will participates in policy discussions, ensuring that diversity-related issues are key considerations in all budgetary, administrative, academic, and governance decisions. The position is also responsible for all campus diversity initiatives, including the development and implementation of diversity plans and programs, training, and the coordination of programs and activities with the various division, schools, colleges, and departments of the campus.
