Name or title of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:
Student Sustainability Leaders: Networking Our Future

A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:
Following broader engagement with the Ohio-based institutions of the National Council for Science and the Environment, the university took the leadership of hosting a student conference. The program was innovative because it represented a student-planned and student-run event that connected UD with a national organization for sustainability leadership and other colleges and universities across Ohio, as well as local and state agencies, corporations, communities, and other organizations. Driven by student interests developed over a year of planning, the conference provided students with opportunities to present their research, network with prospective employers and graduate school opportunities, and reflect on the sustainability movement through artistic expression. The planning period spanned from Fall to Summer 2016-2017, and the conference was held in Fall 2017. A debriefing on the conference was held at the NCSE conference in January 2018.
