The University of Dayton had an APC fund from 2013 to 2021; it is on hiatus as of August 2021 as the University experiences a period of financial austerity.

A brief description of the open access journal hosting services:
The University hosts five open-access journals and provides a range of support for each: editorial assistance; management of peer review; layout and production; training; and marketing of new content via blogs, email and social media. Among them are Marian Studies, an international journal of the study of the Blessed Virgin Mary with almost 250,000 downloads; the national communication journal Basic Communication Course Annual with more than 138,000 downloads; and Line by Line, an undergraduate writing journal with more than 60,000 downloads.

At the time of this writing (August 2021), eCommons had more than 38,000 items: scholarly works from every academic unit; master's theses; doctoral dissertations; institutional documents and records; 65 years' worth of news releases; back issues of university publications; archival materials; rare books; 360-degree photographs of geology samples; biological data collections; abstracts from a prominent human rights conference; and a range of scholarly content from other conferences hosted at the university.
