The UD Green Revolving Fund is a revolving loan fund that sponsors energy efficiency and other sustainability projects on campus. Generally these projects have a 7-year or less simple payback, and savings from the project are reinvested in the fund so that it grows over time.
A brief description of the multi-stakeholder decision-making process used to determine which projects receive funding through the sustainability projects fund:
An oversight committee reviews applications for the fund. The committee is made up of Facilities and administrative staff, academic faculty, and students from the Renewable & Clean Energy program in the School of Engineering. The application process is open to any individual on campus. The oversight committee members will work with applicants to help them develop and implement their projects. Projects have been proposed by facilities staff members, faculty members, graduate students, student project teams, and even individual students who have an exciting idea for sustainability on campus.
