Examples of CIR actions during the previous three years:
In 2014, University of Dayton supported its mission, sustainability, human rights by divesting from coal, fossil fuel, and gas from what was then a $670 million investment pool. It is believed to be the first Catholic university in the nation to take this step. The board of trustees unanimously approved the new investment policy, reflecting the University's commitment to environmental sustainability, human rights and its religious mission. The Investment Committee recommended this action to the board. In the previous three years, the University continues to fulfill this obligation by selling off its fossil fuel investments. In the spring of 2021 the Committee reviewed and updates its screens used to implement the exclusionary aspect of its policy.
