Does the institution meter all energy consumption (electricity, natural gas, purchased steam, etc.) for at least one building?:
Yes
None
A brief description of the metering system:
70% of the total electrical consumption of the University is monitored via a Northwrite real-time metering system. This system offers the ability to perform comparative analysis using historical and weather data, forecast potential of reaching peak demand based on a five day weather forecast and set alarm notification limits based on adjustable demand levels.
We also have building level gas and electric meters for which we receive monthly consumption data that is entered into an EnergyCAP utility tracking database for the purposes of tracking energy conservation project outcomes and consumption trends.
We have both steam and chilled water meters installed in the buildings served from our Central Plant to allow for monitoring of steam and chilled water consumption.
