A brief description of the cultural competence trainings and activities:
•Center for Teaching and Learning provides ongoing faculty workshops and training, as well as teaching resources online, including creating an inclusive classroom, being aware of micro-aggressions, etc.
•Service Excellence training: Created in the 2010-11 academic year by the Center for Multicultural Excellence and Human Resources, incorporating diversity as a key ingredient in superior customer service.
•Inclusive Excellence in Practice staff workshops are offered throughout the year by CME and HR, and can be expanded and customized for specific units.
•The Diversity Summit for Inclusive Excellence is an annual day-long conference which includes a variety of workshops open to everyone in the DU community. Employees are welcome to submit workshop proposals as well as participate.
•Queer & Ally (AKA Safezone) trainings are open to all staff, faculty and students. Facilitation opportunities and training also available.
