A brief description of the cultural competence trainings and activities:
•Presentations/Trainings: The Center for Multicultural Excellence staff members provide trainings in classrooms, for student organizations, etc.
•Colorado Leadership for Equity, Advocacy & Discovering Social justice (CO-LEADS) retreat, a regional collaborative program, is offered for undergraduate students.
•Annual Diversity & Unity Retreat brings together a diverse set of undergraduate and graduate students to explore issues of identity and social systems, and to build campus alliances. Participants enhance their awareness of historical and current intergroup dynamics, develop their knowledge of self and others, and sharpen actionable and marketable communication and collaboration skills.
•The Diversity Summit is an annual day-long conference which includes a variety of workshops open to everyone in the DU community. Students are welcome to submit workshop proposals as well as participate.
•Queer & Ally (AKA Safezone) trainings are open to all staff, faculty and students. Facilitation opportunities and training also available.
•Voices of Discovery: 5-week, facilitated intergroup dialogues with undergraduate students, facilitated by graduate students. Participation and facilitation opportunities available.
