Hosted by the University Libraries, Digital Commons@DU brings together the University's research under one umbrella, with an aim to preserve and provide access to that research. The repository currently contains approximately 8,837 submissions, ranging from research articles to data collections to dissertations, and more, organized by units, departments, and programs, and searchable by keyword. (Searching the repository with the keyword sustainability retrieves 2,160 results; environmental justice retrieves 760 results, as just a limited indication of content related to sustainability).

The Digital Commons institutional repository provides a platform for hosting 5 active and 4 archival open-access journals. We also have a staff person who provides training, tech support, and consultations at no cost.

We provide free hosting of open access journals created or edited by faculty, staff, and students of the University of Denver. Our services include training on the use of the Digital Commons platform and Creative Commons Licenses, technical support, and consultations on journal format, maintenance, peer review, or other questions, especially for student editors.

30.4% of publications affiliated with the University of Denver in Web of Science were open access through a publisher’s website. 16% federally funded publications found through CHORUS were open access on a publisher’s website and 71 (13%) were available on PubMed. These numbers were best estimates.
