A brief description of how the figure above was determined:
Undergraduate programs identified which of their learning outcomes aligned with the stewardship of the natural environment ILO and reported this to the Assessment and Curriculum Support Center. A student graduate assistant with the UHM ISR went through and removed those that did not meet the criteria of having an explicit focus on the interdependence of ecological systems and social/economic systems. The GA then matched this information with data on degrees conferred during the time period of this report (2020-21), available here: https://data.hawaii.edu/#/reports/DET1A. Number of undergraduate degrees by self-reporting degree programs was summed for the final number.
