A brief description of the institution’s green infrastructure and LID practices:
There is no written policy for rainwater management, but the campus has extremely good management in place. WCC is located in a very wet area of O‘ahu and does not require any irrigation infrastructure to maintain the landscape.

WCC installed a BioSwale or rain garden at Hale Imiloa Natural Sciences Building that is maintained by Hui O Koolaupoko

Hale A‘o Hawaiian Studies Department buildings all have rainwater catchment systems.

Rain water pillows are installed under eaves of every building on campus. Runoff flows into gardens or stormwater infrastructure.

WCC also installed two large flood plains behind the Hale A‘o parking lot to prevent flash flooding.
