A brief description of how sustainability is included prominently in new student orientation:
University Services has twenty minutes for presentations during the New Student Orientations over the summer.
During these presentations we inform the incoming Freshmen about their alternative commuting options (UH students travel an average 15 miles one way everyday to campus!), details on the results from recycle mania, educating them on waste minimization from dining halls to all areas of campus.
