A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about employee commuting, including the timeframe for when the analysis was conducted and how a representative sample was reached, if applicable:
An on-line commuter survey conducted in Spring 2018. The 2018 Campus Commuter Survey was sent to 60,868 registered campus emails and yielded 6,408 complete responses. This is a 16% response rate, exceeding the original rate sought: 6-8%. The responses of each demographic group (students, faculty, staff) were weighted according to the proportion of the campus population that their group represents. In total, the survey had 6,408 responses: 3,466 students, 889 faculty, and 2,053 staff members.
