A brief description of the program, including an indication of its scope (e.g., the number of bicycles the program makes available, participation levels, etc.):
Anyone with a UofL ID can check out a bike, helmet, and lock for free for the day from the Student Activities Center gym equipment desk! We launched this program in August 2012 with a relatively small fleet of five bikes, and have plans to expand it. Bikes are available each day first-come, first-served to all UofL students and employees. Users simply sign a waiver form and return the bike by the time the gym closes for the day/weekend. Those who check out bikes are responsible for any theft/loss/damage. Some residence halls, such as Community Park, also check out bikes free to residents, but the fleet is small.
