A brief description of the institution’s community garden:
A group of new immigrants started the Rainbow Gardens in 2008, in collaboration with the City of Winnipeg and University of Manitoba. The two-acre plot is managed by the Refugee Immigrant Farming & Integration in Manitoba Inc. (RIFIM) and has grown to feed over 300 families.
The 2020 growing season produced over 100,000 pounds of fresh healthy produce harvested for the families.
