A brief description of the campaign(s):
Kill-A-Watt: During fall semester, the students at the University of Michigan compete on behalf of their residence hall to reduce energy use by the greatest percentage compared to the same month in the previous year. The Kill-A-Watt raises awareness about energy, environment, and sustainability. Students are educated with ways to save energy to help their dorm compete. RecycleMania: RecycleMania is a 10-week competition among colleges and universities across the U.S. to see which school can collect the largest amount of recyclables per capita, the largest amount of total recyclables, the least amount of trash per capita, or have the highest recycling rate over the course of the competition. Results are tracked online for the community to follow.

RecycleMania: Past results are available online at http://www.recyclemaniacs.org/scoreboard/past-results. The universities progress in recycling and waste management can be viewed in a quantified way from comparing these results through the years. Information for this campaign can be found at http://www.recycle.umich.edu/grounds/recycle/recyclemania.php. Kill-A-Watt: This is the first year the University of Michigan offers this new program. Thus, we will be collecting baseline data this year and will compare results in upcoming years.
