A brief description of the undergraduate degree program:
A collaborative effort between the College of Literature, Science, and Arts (LSA) and the School for Environment and Sustainability (SEAS), PitE is distinguished by its environmental subject matter and its interdisciplinary and practical approach. Broadly speaking, PitE’s curriculum focuses on the complex interactions of human beings and their environment. To understand these interactions and learn how to create more sustainable and socially equitable forms of human habitation on this planet, PitE students develop a multidisciplinary perspective integrating the methods and approaches of the natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities.

The minor is designed to provide the information and analytic skills necessary to understanding the environment across a variety of disciplinary perspectives. Students will also be required to complete either an analytics course or an engaged learning experience, such as study abroad, field station course or internship.
