International Summer school 2019 "City, Territory, Circular Economy"

This international summer school explores in an intensive and immersive way the position of large urban agglomerations in the circular economy. Starting point the direct observation of three French-speaking metropolises - Montreal, Paris and Brussels - and meeting with local actors, the school will train the future champions of the urban circular economy. It will allow students, entrepreneurs and professionals in urban planning, architecture and economics to understand and compare the different metropolitan economic and spatial trajectories, the modalities of implementation of circular economy strategies, and in particular the relationship that cities have with territories (urban, peri-urban, rural) in this field.

URB6774: Urban planning, risks and issues
Also, Isabelle Thomas professor in Urban Studies, organized this year a seminar in New Orleans as part of the course URB6774. During this trip the students made an analysis on the preservation and restoration of the ecosystems of the Mississippi Delta as well as the education and awareness of local communities on the environmental issues of New Orleans.
