UNHSI staff and student interns reviewed each department's faculty list (excluding lecturers and clinical faculty, for whom research activities are not considered in tenure and promotion activities) to identify which faculty are doing or have recently done sustainability research.
The total number of employees who do research was determined by including every professor, research professor, associate professor or assistant professor. The resulting list was reviewed by the research office.
