A brief description of how sustainability is included in new employee orientation:
Orientation for Facilities Management employees includes a presentation on sustainability that goes over the university policies, goals and commitments, sustainability successes, and the role of facilities staff in achieving our goals. New employees learn how sustainability intersects with their jobs and how they can be role models for sustainability at UNC Charlotte. Specific topics include waste diversion, vehicle use/idling, energy/water conservation, pollution control, and green vs. toxic materials/methods. Safety is used as a unifying theme for protecting people and planet.
