The Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI) works to guide students, staff, and faculty at UNC Charlotte towards inclusive excellence by developing and supporting programs and initiatives that enhance capability, build community, and leverage diversity and inclusion to guide innovation in education, training, research, practice and service. The Office is led by the Associate Vice Chancellor for Diversity and Inclusion, who serves as the university's Chief Diversity Officer and is a member of the Chancellor's Cabinet.

Diversity EDU is an online suite of diversity, equity, and inclusion course offerings are available to all of UNC Charlotte's faculty, staff, and students. The courses use current social science research in academic settings to introduce learners to skills for engaging with differences on campus; reinforce the skills and knowledge they already possess; expand options for engaging with diversity; and inform rather than direct decisions. There's also training on Percipio for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion that focus on DEI in the workplace, leading DEI, and unconscious bias. The online Graduate Certificate in Anti-Racism in Urban Education allows participants to explore the underlying social, economic, psychological, and political conditions that disproportionately channel advantages to particular racialized groups while denying them to others. The certificate is appropriate for educators in public and private settings, administrators in non-profit settings, counselors, religious/spiritual entities, local, regional and state government employees, and others interested in topics of equity. Race and Social Equity Academy (RASE) fosters the scholarship of practice and research focused on advancing racial and social parities within the community. Along with empirical scholarship, race dialogue will be supported through intellectual discourse, bringing together thought leaders in our community representing a variety of perspectives on race and social equity matters. UNC Charlotte is a community partner of Race Matters for Juvenile Justice, a leadership collaborative working within their community to reduce disproportionality and disparate outcomes for children and families of color through institutional, anti-racism organizing, education, workforce development, and practice change.
