A brief description of the themed housing, including name(s) and descriptions of theme(s):
The Live Green special interest community is for students who are passionate about the environment and sustainable living. Live Green was offered for the first time in August 2011, coinciding with the opening of Jefferson Suites, UNCG's first LEED residence hall (certification pending). Residents within the Live Green community participate in a variety of programs and initiatives to promote awareness of sustainability and to foster a cleaner campus environment.
Residents also play active roles in the Campus Garden, Recyclemania, and Landfill on the Lawn. Residents within the community make a conscious effort to conserve energy and water, and sign a sustainable living agreement.
