A brief description of the sustainable food and beverage purchasing program:
Dining Services follows Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch standards for all seafood purchases. Dining buys Fair Trade coffees and HFAC certified cage free shell eggs. The “Buy Local” campaign was created to support local economies and reduce food miles, as well as educate the community on the benefits of buying local, fresh produce. To further support this effort, UNCG Dining has pledged to support the NC 10% Campaign, committing to spend 10% of its food budget on locally grown foods.
