A brief description of the plan:
In May 2008, the UNCG Campus Bicycle Master Plan was completed. The Plan was created in conjunction with
an outside consultant, the Louis Berger Group. This effort included the first comprehensive study of bicycling on
campus, and led to the creation of a Plan to serve the entire campus community. The Plan focuses on creating a
safe biking environment and providing more convenient bicycle opportunities for University commuters and
recreational riders alike. The study included an evaluation of current (2008) conditions, a bicycle circulation plan,
design guidelines and recommendations for bicycling facilities and infrastructure, a bicycle parking plan,
program and policy recommendations, and implementation ideas. The implementation section identifies potential
funding sources and community partners.
Cycling is also a key component of the Transportation Master Plan Update that is currently being written.
